Knives Out also starred the late Christopher Plummer in one of his final performances.
On its release in 2019, Knives Out enjoyed a smashing box-office release. The film boasts a net profit of $82 million. During its opening weekend alone, the movie grossed over $27 million.
Additionally, the film enjoyed great critical success. The American Film Institute named it as one of the top films of 2019.
The Hollywood Reporter's David Rooney said the film is an "ingeniously plotted, tremendously entertaining and deviously irreverent crowd-pleaser".
The A.V. Club, meanwhile, described Knives Out as "madly entertaining".
It is currently unclear when the sequels are expected, or if they will enjoy a cinematic release before heading to the streaming platform.
However, if the sequels are even a fraction as hilarious as their predecessor, then we are certainly in for a treat.
