It's understood that the new Matilda film will be released in cinemas before landing on Netflix - though that may not be for a while.
Production was due to start this year but that's been pushed back due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The movie is just one of a series of Roald Dahl adaptations Netflix is working on.
Earlier this year the streaming service confirmed that it would be releasing two separate animated series based Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
