Back in January, This Morning host Holly Willoughby filmed a pilot for dating show Meet The Parents and it has now been commissioned for an entire series by ITV bosses.
The premise sounds pretty great, according to
Digital Spy.
Singles will bravely hand over control of their love lives to their parents, and their potential dates will get to ask their parents all sorts of questions from how messy they are, how many exes they have, to mortifying childhood tales that you'd rather just sweep under the carpet.
All the contestants will have absolutely ZERO control over proceedings, except for one single phone call they can use if for example, their dad starts telling a potential date about they time they wet themselves at Mass.
The person who chatted to the parents will then get to choose the individual based on their impression of them, but will also get to meet the unlucky people that weren't chosen.
"We all know how embarrassing parents can be and nobody knows you better than they do."
"I can't wait to hear what humiliating secrets they'll be revealing and see who will regret leaving their love life in the hands of their parents."
This sounds so awful and yet we will watch.
