Even if you're not a fan of Game of Thrones, you'll surely know the major buzz around the show.
It's one of the greatest shows ever made and the best part about it is that it's filmed in Ireland and stars a lot of Irish actors. If you're looking to start any series soon, then this one should be on your list.
For those of you who are fans of the show, you're probably still not over what happened in this week's episode. I'm not one for giving spoilers but I will say that the battle scene was one of the best things on television I have ever seen. While the special effects were epic, it was the acting that made it incredible.
Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington, is receiving most of the praise for the recent episode, and rightly so. Even co-star Emilia Clarke couldn't resist publicly praising him.
While paying tribute to the actor and others working on the show she said:
"And exhale. It's episodes like tonight that make me SO GODDAMN PROUD to be a part of BEST SHOW ON TELEVISION! Fact. ??? Harington, Turner, Cunningham, Houton, Hivju, Rheon, Sapochnik, Weiss, Benioff, take your bow."
So, if you are a fan of the show, you won't be too surprised to learn that the main actors have reportedly agreed a major pay increase for the next two series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, leads such as Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) will each earn upwards of $500,000 per episode of season seven.
If they earn that amount for the seventh then they will presumably earn the same for season eight but that hasn't been confirmed yet because the plot for that series has yet to be decided.
Some of the other leads such as Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) have yet to strike a deal about their wages. They last received a pay rise in in October 2014, which had an option for season seven.
The Irish Oscar-winner made her movie debut playing the lead character in this psychological thriller. Beast, the first movie to star Ireland’s latest Oscar-winner Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), is airing on TV tonight (Wednesday, 18 March). In the 2017 psychological thriller, the Kerry actress plays the lead character, Moll, a troubled young woman living in a […]
