When they announced that a sequel to Trainspotting was on the way, the world collectively winced.
They say that nothing is sacred, and as far as movies are concerned that certainly appears to be so. Almost any movie is eligible for a sequel these days, but Trainspotting is another matter. There are some treasures that simply should not be touched, and Trainspotting is most definitely one of them.
However, T2 Trainspotting was happening, but unlike most sequels, this looked sort-of promising. Director Danny Boyle was back, the original cast were all back, it had the blessing of author Irvine Welsh, so maybe it was going to be okay?
Well on Thursday night, the public got a chance to see the movie, and it looks like all our fears were misplaced. On almost all accounts, everyone loved it. Let's have a look at some of the reaction.
