"People made nasty comments about my appearance, saying I’d had work done on my bum and my lips, when I hadn’t."
Sally Wainwright's brilliant series Happy Valley has returned to our screens for a new series, bringing with it a host of new stars.
One cast member who is winning praise for her portrayal is Mollie Winnard, who plays Joanna on the show.
However, Winnard has shared that past comments on her TV jobs haven't always been kind. In fact, when she appeared on the long-running soap opera Coronation Street, she says she was met with cruel comments about her appearance.
Winnard played Kayla Clifton on the show in 2018.

Speaking to
The Sun about dealing with negative comments, she said: "A very few people made nasty comments about my appearance, saying I’d had work done on my bum and my lips, when I hadn’t.
"That stuck in my brain a bit but then I forgot about it because the vast majority of people are positive."
Winnard previously shared her excitement to be a cast member on Happy Valley with an Instagram post late last year. Sharing the trailer, she wrote: "If you haven’t already guessed from the millions of times I’ve posted about it on my story, I’m rather buzzed about this one!
"The show has been one of my favourites for years and filming it was a dream come true. The cast and crew were phenomenal and from the scripts and the little bits that I have seen, I can confirm you are in for a treat!! Catch me as Joanna Hepworth…. It’s gonna be gooooddd..."
