Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, has finally been confirmed by HBO. The new series, which will be set 300 years before the events of the aforementioned show, will tell the story of the Targaryens in Westeros, long before the Mad King, Daenerys's reign, and her eventual fall from grace. Series one will have 10 episodes and will be co-produced by Game of Thrones author George RR Martin, as well as Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik. The announcement was made this week as part of HBO's new streaming platform, HBO Max. "It's my pleasure to announce today that we are ordering House of the Dragon straight to series for HBO," said Casey Bloys, president of HBO programming. "It tells the story of House Targaryen and the early days of Westeros." This comes after another prequel of the series, said to be set 5,000 years before the main show, was scrapped by HBO. A pilot starring Naomi Watts, and also co-created by RR Martin, was seemingly well received by the network. However, it has since been shelved in favour of House of the Dragon.  The cast of the upcoming series - or a launch date - has yet to be confirmed. In other related GOT news, there's a new tour that's just opened up in Belfast - and it sounds class enough, in fairness. The new visitor guide casts a spotlight on the Glass of Thrones Trail in Belfast, a 1.8 mile long trail leading from City Hall to the banks of the River Lagan, and all the way to Titanic Studios where much of the hit show was filmed. Along the trail are a number of imposing glass windows at key locations in the city, with each one coinciding with an episode in the final season of Game of Thrones.  Fancy a trip up North, or?
