The best romantic film around!

There have been some amazing romantic movies in our lifetimes, from Dirty Dancing to Titanic and all the others in between but one stands out from the rest for me. The love story of Noah and Allie in The Notebook. Spoilers below... We all remember where we were the moment we watched Allie and Noah's love story unfold for the first time in front of our eyes, most of us were probably in the cinema bawling our eyes out. I cried so much I had to leave my seat, lucky for me the movie was over so I didn't miss much. Can you believe it's been over 16 years since we all cried our eyes out in the cinema at The Notebook?! I've watched it again recently and it's a movie that doesn't age. Since it's Valentines Day this weekend and this is the most romantic movie ever in my opinion I thought I'd let you know a few facts about the film that you may not have heard before... Noah's Eyes Noah was supposed to have brown eyes so Ryan Gosling wore contacts in the film. According to VH1, he had to wear brown contacts to match the eyes of James Garner, who played the older Noah in the film. Stars who auditioned to be Allie Rachel McAdams couldn't have been cast better as a character in my opinion but there were some very familiar faces who also auditioned for the role of Allie including Britney Spears, Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Biel. Ryan wasn't handsome Ryan Gosling reportedly got the role because he wasn't handsome and looked a bit nuts! The director of the film, Nick Cassavetes, told Ryan at the time: "I want you to play this role because you're not like the other young actors out there in Hollywood. You're not handsome, you're not cool, you're just a regular guy who looks a bit nuts." The birds The crew raised the birds from the boat scene on location. This was so the birds would be more comfortable with the area and could be relaxed while filming. Allie and Noah are real The movie is about a real life Allie and Noah. Nicholas Sparks based the book on his wife's grandparents with the same names who were together for 60 years.
