The Street would just not be the same without her.
Coronation Street remains one of the most watched soaps on television, and it's one that I personally cannot get enough of.
The ITV soap always keeps us guessing as to who will turn up on the cobbles next, whether it be a character that left or even 'died' before or a totally new face to bring drama to the street.
One familiar face that we haven't seen in a long time is Emily Bishop, one of the longest-running characters on Manchester's most famous street.

The octogenarian left the Street in January to visit her nephew Spider in Peru, but since then we haven't heard nor seen anything of her.
According to
The Sun, actress Eileen Derbyshire who plays the character of Emily was set to take a six-month break but it looks like that short break has been extended to a year-long one.
Bosses of the soap have confirmed that there are no plans for the actress to return
" Eileen has been off for a long time, and there is no expectation that she will be back. All of her cast mates have accepted she won’t be returning.
"She’s 85 and has been out of the show for a year, so she probably would have found it tough to get back into the fast pace of filming...
"Of course, as far as the bosses are concerned, there will always be a place for her on the show."
Fans took to Twitter to mourn the possible eternal loss of Emily from the soap.
