If you've read Dolly Alderton's wonderful memoir, Everything I Know About Love, then you're bound to be looking forward to its upcoming TV adaption. The book sees Dolly explore a number of areas in her life - from first jobs, to friendships, to disastrous dates, to her experience with an eating disorder - and it's equal parts heart-breaking and hilarious. Having said that, if you have questions about what the TV series will look like, you're certainly not alone. Given how personal the memoir is, it doesn't, at first glance, seem to be the perfect fit for a television show, but with Dolly at its helm, we know we're in good hands. So, without further ado, here is everything we know about Everything I Know About Love, the TV show.

Will it follow the memoir to the letter?

Not exactly. BBC has said that the series will be a "semi-fictionalised" seven parter, that will be inspired by Dolly's own experiences. Instead of Dolly and her friends, the show will centre on fictional characters - Maggie and Birdy. So...what's it about then?

The TV adaption will follow our two protagonists as they settle into adult life in their first house-share in London. Like the memoir, it will also involve flashbacks to their childhood together in the early 2000s, bringing a distinctly nostalgic touch to the series, no doubt. Alderton herself has described it as a "messy, boisterous, joyful romantic comedy" about two women in "the first phase of adulthood".

Who's in it?

Casting for Everything I Know About Love was announced earlier this week, and we're already excited. Bel Powley, who starred in The Diary of a Teenage Girl (2015) will play Birdy, and Emma Appleton, who starred in Netflix's The Witcher, will portray her best friend Maggie. Other actors involved include Marli Siu, Jordan Peters, Aliyah Odoffin, Conor Finch and Ryan Brown.

When can we watch it?

Filming for the project is set to take place soon in Manchester, and the show has been scheduled to air in March 2022. Thankfully, it's not too long away, but if you want to get a vibe for the show, why not read (or indeed, re-read) the memoir?
