RTÉ has officially released its new upcoming programming schedule for Autumn 2025 to Spring 2026 today (August 21).
The upcoming schedule features new shows such as The Traitors Ireland and the return of iconic staples like The Tommy Tiernan Show, Ireland's Fittest Family, Room to Improve, and The Late Late Show, however, Dancing with the Stars was nowhere to be seen.
ShinAwiL boss Larry Bass, who is in charge of the show's production, has since disclosed that talks are still "ongoing for the show to return in January."
"If you ask me what percentage would say the show will be back, I’d say 80% plus that it will be back, but until we have a contract, I can’t confirm anything.
"I would be shocked and stunned if they axed it at this point, but I can’t answer for RTE, and until we have a contract, I can’t say we are doing the show.
"It is all in the hands of RTÉ. They’re not waiting for anything from us," Bass explained to Dublin Live.
The show's eighth series aired successfully from January to March of this year, which concluded with a grand finale on March 16, with Olympic gymnast Rhys McClenaghan and professional Laura Nolan crowned the 2025 winners.
Dancing with the Stars has become an RTÉ One staple, with many tuning in on a Sunday night to enjoy the beloved show since its debut in 2017.
