The actress plays Sally Webster in Corrie (image: ITV).
She told Woman magazine: “I can’t imagine leaving Coronation Street – it’s the perfect job for me and there are a lot of reasons I’ve stayed for so long.
“I feel much more secure than I probably did 10 years ago, but you just don’t know how things are going to turn out, so I still worry a little about my contract being renewed every year.
“A new producer could come in and decide they don’t like my character, who knows?”

Sally added that she would still jump at the opportunity of doing new things if it came to that.
“I’m very optimistic and positive person, so if it did happen I’d go and have a great time doing other things,” she explained. “I’d miss everybody but I’d embrace it.”Explore more on these topics:
