The film is being adapted from the book the two reporters wrote detailing the Pulitzer-winning coverage that exposed Weinstein and led over 100 women to come forward about their experiences with him.
This then sparked the #MeToo and Time's Up movement, where hundreds of women and men came forward about powerful individuals in the industry that had taken advantage and sexually harassed them.
The upcoming Universal Pictures film is set to be directed by Maria Schrader, with the script written by Rebecca Lenkiewicz.

And this won't be the first time Carey and Zoe will be starring together, the pair are reuniting after appearing in a Broadway production of The Seagull back in 2008, as well as Carey starring in Wildlife in 2018 which Zoe wrote.
In February of last year, a judge sentenced Weinstein to 23 years in prison for a number of convictions including one count of third-degree rape and one count of sexual assault in the first degree.
His criminal charges include rape, criminal sex act, sexual abuse and sexual misconduct.
