Here are the best Irish movies on Netflix to watch over Paddy’s weekend

If you're looking for something to watch on Netflix over Paddy's weekend then why not choose one of the Irish movies that are on offer. Some of the best movies from 2016 are now on the streaming site and they've also got some great titles from previous years. The Young Offenders Inspired by Ireland’s biggest cocaine seizure of €440 million off the coast of Cork in 2007, The Young Offenders follows two Cork inner-city teenagers, Conor and Jock, as they embark on a 160km road trip on stolen bikes in the hopes of finding an unrecovered bale of coke. Directed by first-time feature writer/director Peter Foott and introduces new talents Alex Murphy and Chris Walley. There are also some familiar faces in the cast including Hilary Rose and PJ Gallagher. Sing Street In 1980s Dublin, a teen whose family is falling apart transfers to a tough school, where he forms a rock band to fit in and win a girl's attention. It stars Aidan Gillen, Jack Reynor and Ferdia Walsh-Peelo. Brooklyn The life of young Irish immigrant forever changes when she visits 1950s New York. But when summoned home, she finds herself torn between two worlds. The Lobster In a near future world, single people are hunted and forced to find mates within 45 days, or be turned into animals and banished to the wilderness. Ondine A fisherman’s (Colin Farrell) life is transformed when he catches a mysterious woman in his nets. His daughter comes to believe that the woman is a magical creature. Gold A man returns home after a 10-year absence to reconnect with his ex-wife and daughter, but finds them living with his domineering former PE teacher. It stars James Nesbitt, Kerry Condon, Patrick Gibson and Maisie Williams.
