“It is something I’d really like to happen and I’ve said I’m happy for it to go ahead.”According to the Sun, Mitch also said that the musical would be written for London's West End and that it would celebrate his daughter's life and the music she created.
“We want to do something positive about how she developed her music. “What we don’t hear is that she was clean of drugs for three years when she died (...) There’s so much more to her than just the drugs and the alcohol."
Amy passed away in 2011.
She died of alcohol poisoning in her Camden home. She was 27.
Soon afterwards, the star's family founded the Amy Winehouse Foundation to help young people deal with drug addiction, alcohol addiction, and eating disorders.
A documentary about the singer's life titled Amy was released in 2015.
The film explored her struggles with drug addiction before and after she found fame.
Mitch harshly criticised the documentary after its release, claiming that it misrepresented him and that its content was "misleading."Explore more on these topics:
