After last year's show, Love Island's producers decided to ban contestants from smoking on screen.
Hear, hear we say.
However, this year's batch are seemingly still have the odd sneaky cigarette... albeit with major restrictions in place (aside: Kendall Rae Knight has revealed since leaving the island that Eval Booker smoked the most).

Speaking to
OK! Online, a spokesperson for the series confirmed that there is no smoking "within the Love Island villa or villa garden".

However, the spokesperson went on to state:
"Producers have provided a designated smoking area outside the villa, much as you would see at a workplace."
There is a twist too - they added: "Islanders will only be able to use the smoking area alone which will limit conversations."

The spokesperson furthermore revealed: "The area will be filmed with a camera so this could be broadcast, but the fact that the area will only be used by one person at a time will obviously limit the amount of conversation/action or activity that takes place and therefore subsequently broadcast."
Fair enough.

Some fans have been lamenting 2018's lack of a 'smoke pit' - the location for much gossip last year and therefore some great footage.

However, with the show proving so popular with younger people, huge complaints were sparked over the amount of smoking that could be seen on screen.
So all-in-all, a very good decision in our books.
