Holly Willoughby stepped down from her role on the mid-morning talk show earlier this month.

Following Holly's shock departure from the ITV show after 14 years at the helm, viewers have been speculating as to who will take her place on the talkshow's couch.

Attention has now turned to the WAG and presenter, who has enjoyed major success for her podcast with her ex-footballer husband, Peter Crouch - The Therapy Crouch - as well celebrating the recent launch of her new ITVBe show, Abbey Clancy: Celebrity Homes.

Speaking to The Mirror, a source said Abbey's confidence and 'affable nature' on camera would 'prove a hit with This Morning viewers' and, for that reason she has been named as a potential replacement for Holly.

In 2006, the mum-of-four was thrust into the limelight after appearing on Britain's Next Top Model. She also met Peter that same year and went on to marry him in 2011.

There have been whispers that if Abbey were to be successful in becoming Holly's replacement, it could pave the way for her husband to join her for a double act.

Following Holly's exit from This Morning, a number of industry favourites have been linked to the role, such as This Morning regulars Alison Hammond and Ben Shepard, as well as Storm Huntley, who has proved successful with viewers of Channel 5's Jeremy Vine programme.

However, Storm has since made it clear that while it is 'flattering' to be in the running, it may be a conflict of scheduling for her, so she wanted to distance herself from the rumours.

Other famous faces that are reported to be in the running include Good Morning Britain host, Kate Garraway, and Davina McCall, who most recently hosted My Mum, Your Dad and is best known for her time presenting Big Brother UK.

The former This Morning presenter parted ways with the ITV role just months after her co-host Phillip Schofield made his exit, following revelations about an affair with a younger colleague.
