Is there ever a dull moment in the East End?

The answer is no there certainly is not. Things have been particularly emotionally charged the past week in Walford with the premature death of Ben Mitchell’s boyfriend Paul. Elsewhere, however, there was joy with Whitney announcing to boyfriend Lee that they are expecting their first child. Viewers will know that Lee’s reaction seemed to be one of dismay rather than joy and now by the looks of things, it’s all about to get worse for the young Carter. In an episode set to air early next week, a panicked Whitney is rushed to the doctors after receiving a phone call. The perplexed mother-to-be is shocked to discover she has chlamydia. Her initial reaction is to worry about what Lee will think of her but after some contemplation, she begins to wonder if Lee is to blame. Viewers will remember the barman with Abi Branning months ago - something Whitney is still blissfully unaware of. However, it seems Lee is unaware that Abi was diagnosed with the STI after catching it from ex Ben Mitchell. As Whitney realizes all the connections, she confronts Lee and Abi. What happens next is anyone’s guess but judging by the general unhappy outcome of pretty much everything in Walford, it’s not going to turn out too well. The episode will air on August 1^st.
