Week 3 is over.

We're well into the swing of Love Island at the moment, and it's safe to say that a LOT has happened in the space of three weeks. From break-ups, make-ups, rainbow fish, and gold stick-on tattoos, it's certainly been a whirlwind. However, for one day every week the islanders don't have to film anything. They simply wake up, do NOT have to put on their microphone and go about their day. They even get to leave the villa. So, it made me think - if I had one day to squeeze in as much as I could, what would I do?

Food

Duh. First of, I would definitely head for some food. I'm (hypothetically) in Mallorca! Mallorca is the foodie epicentre of the Balearic Islands, so I would definitely need to get my fill. Local Mallorca food is based on pork, fish, vegetables, oil and garlic, so one or two (or ten) tapas dishes would be right up my street. I've also heard of the coca, which is a very simple but glorious Mallorca food. Flatbread dough is topped with vegetables and then baked, and it just looks absolutely delish.

Hair and nails

Between catching all that sun, taking dips in the pool and no doubt frying my hair into oblivion, my second stop would probably be a hair salon. Get a bouncy blow dry to last a few days and make sure it silky and nourished. Is there anything better than a trip to the hairdressers? I think not. Well, the only thing better than the hairdressers is a trip to the nail salon. After all those challenges and general goings on around the villa, my nails are probably in tatters and need a little refresh... and now I'm ready for the week ahead.

Cathedral de Mallorca

One stop I'd definitely make on the island is the Cathedral de Mallorca. The huge, historic building sits on the clifftop where the Roman city was founded and stands out above the city walls. It has 87 stain glass windows, making the inside of the church shine like a rainbow, and with elements designed by Gaudi, it's an art/architect-lovers dream.

Santanyi Outdoor Market

The Santanyi Outdoor Market seems to be one of the most popular places in Mallorca. I love a good flea market and this one seems to be the best around. The gorgeous market has numerous stalls selling things like handicrafts, delicious local products, cold meats, cheeses, jewellery and clothes... making a trip to the village of Santanyí is always worthwhile. The area around the market is supposed to be gorgeous too and filled with restaurants and bars.

Wave House

OK, I know the contestants probably have a bit of er, fun inside the villa (let's not forget that spontaneous moment before Sam arrived where they all broke out in dance and Wes did that floss...) but, they probably need to have a bit of a laugh outside the gaff too. I know I would, so I'd head straight to the Wave House. What is the Wave House, you ask? Well, it's basically a beach front resort that has two absolutely massive wave machines, bars and restaurants, Bali beds, unique shops and the great Sol Wave House Hotel. Yep, defo a place to have a few drinks and a bit of fun.

Caves of Genova

Next, I'd be looking for a bit of adventure, so this would be it. Thousands of people are enchanted by the natural beauty of the Caves of Genova, where the water has been sculpting over the past centuries into huge domes, majestic columns, water pools and tunnels. You can head with one other person, or a group, but I'd definitely be interesting in taking my partner... that is if anyone would couple with me in the Love Island villa...

Formentor Playa

And to top it all off (that's if I can squeeze it all in), is a trip to Formentor Playa beach. I'd relax here, admire my manicure (and my food baby), top up my tan and just enjoy the sun. I'd say it's mega stressful for the Love Island guys and gals to get a few free hours before being thrown back into the villa again, but I'd definitely want some adventure and relaxation, and it seems like you can find it all here. OK, now I really want to book a trip to Mallorca.
