The latest member of the royal family was born on the bathroom floor.

Zara and Mike Tindall have announced the birth of their son, who was born on the bathroom floor in their home this weekend. Baby Lucas Phillip arrived on Sunday 21 March. As Zara is the daughter of Princess Anne, Lucas is the great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II. He was born at home in Gatcombe Park. The new addition is the Tindall's third child and first boy, after big sisters Mia Grace, seven, and Lena Elizabeth, two. "Sunday got even better because a little boy arrived at my house," he said. He continued: "Arrived very quickly. Didn't make it to the hospital. On the bathroom floor." Mike explained how he hurriedly assisted Zara with the birth. "So yeah, it was running to the gym, to get a mat, get into the bathroom, get the mat on the floor, towels down, brace, brace, brace." On earlier episodes of his podcast, Mike joked about wanting a boy. "I'd like a boy this time," he said, previously. "I've got two girls, I would like a boy. I'll love it whether a boy or girl, but please be a boy!" Mike also joked about giving his child a pandemic-inspired name.
