Victoria Beckham has spoken out about a moment in her early career when she was weighed on live television.
The incident occurred on Channel 4's TFI Friday in 1999, shortly after giving birth to her first child Brooklyn.
During the show, host Chris Evans asked Victoria how she got back "into shape" after labour and if her weight was "back to normal".
He then asked a hesitant Victoria if he could "check" and brought out a weighing scales.
The Spice Girls star then stepped on the scales, and afterwards, Chris said, "Eight stone’s not bad at all, is it?"
In a recent interview with Vogue Australia (via The Australian) Victoria reflected on the incident, as well as the public's fascination with her weight.
"I went on a TV show called Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush [sic] with Chris Evans many years ago and I’d just had Brooklyn and lost a lot of weight after," she told the publication. "It happened to my mum after her pregnancies."
She went on: "It doesn’t mean you have an eating disorder. And he made me stand on the scales to be weighed. Can you imagine doing that nowadays?
Victoria also referenced the press' fascination with her weight, and recalled headlines that both read "Porky Posh" and "Skeletal Posh".
"After I had Brooklyn, there was a picture on the front page of a newspaper pointing to every single part of my body where I had to focus on losing the weight from," she said.
