Swiftogeddon is described as a night dedicated to worshipping at the altar of Taylor Swift: non-stop Swifty all night: deep cuts, extended mixes, fan favourites and all the hits. Ever since the series of events began in the UK in August, they have been a massive sell-out - and even got a mention from Taylor herself. The news comes soon after Taylor Swift's documentary Miss Americana debuted on Netflix. The film is described as a raw and emotionally revealing look at Taylor Swift, one of the most iconic artists of our time, during a transformational period in her life. Miss Americana tells the story of Swift navigating the difference between who the world wants her to be, and who she wants to be. Director Lana Wilson offers a luminous and multifaceted window into a global superstar learning to embrace her role not only as a songwriter and performer, but as a woman harnessing the full power of her voice. Wilson explained in an interview with Netflix that, from the start of the film, she set out to make it a "present-tense look at Taylor going through a transformational period in her life". "When Taylor and I first met, I was thrilled to hear that she didn’t want to make a traditional 'pop star' film. We had an immediate connection – we discussed narrative structure in documentary film for a solid 20 minutes, and she was extremely smart and funny," she said. "She told me that she wanted to make something raw and honest. She was game for me to film during moments that might be unglamorous or uncomfortable. Mostly, she wanted me to bring my own perspective as a director to the project, to find the story that I wanted to tell. I think Taylor understood that that approach would make for the best film, because she herself is such an extraordinary storyteller," she added. "What was most interesting to me during the process of making this film is that I got to see Taylor re-evaluating how much public approval means to her, and gradually deciding to use her voice in a whole new way.
