Taylor Swift reflected on her infamous 2016 feud with Kim Kardashian

It all started when Kayne West released his song 'Famous' where he called Taylor a vulgar word in one of the lyrics.

After claiming that she had not given approval for the line, Kim released a clip of an edited phone call that made fans believe otherwise.

Speaking about the impact the whole situation had on her, Taylor explained that it felt like a "career death," and had a massive impact on her mental health.

"Make no mistake - my career was taken away from me," the singer said. 

"You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar," she explained. 

"That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls.

"I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard."

Though hurt, Taylor used the situation to fuel her writing and later released her album Reputation, which even took the snake emoji a lot of people had used against her and turned it into art.

It wasn't as easy as releasing more music and getting back on stage for the 'Anti-Hero' singer though as she admitted she believed the incident was going to "define me negatively for the rest of my life."

Yet, in the years that followed, Taylor's career has only gone from strength to strength.
