"What incredible stock to come from. I don’t take that for granted at all," the Lady Bird star added.
Prior to Sinéad's sudden death earlier this summer, she reportedly wanted a biopic made about her life – with Saoirse at the forefront.
Sinéad's management has confirmed that, before her death, she was mulling over the idea of having a biopic about her life.
They revealed that the Nothing Compares 2 U singer was considering having her best-selling memoir, Rememberings, made into a movie.
According to The Sun, Sinéad had three Hollywood actresses in mind to play her at different stages of her life.
Fellow Irish woman, Saoirse Ronan, was apparently one of the singer's top picks to play her during her early years.
Niamh Algar and Demi Moore also gained the attention of the This Is The Day songstress.
"She had a huge amount of respect for Demi and thought Niamh was a real rising star after she saw her in her TV series The Virtues," a source told the publication.
“Sinéad, too, thought Saoirse was fierce and loved her from her film Brooklyn in 2015 when she played an Irish migrant," they added.
