Olympic sprinter, Rhasidat Adeleke met global superstar Rihanna in London on Tuesday

Adeleke was attending the launch of Rihanna's new Fenty Hair line and the brief encounter between the athlete and the singer-turned-business mogul quickly became a highlight of the event. 

The 400m track star, known for her signature long locks during competitions, debuted a fresh, short haircut at the event. 

Clearly thrilled to meet Rihanna, Adeleke took to Instagram to share her excitement, admitting it was a "fan girl moment." 

"Fan girl moment meeting @badgalriri," Adeleke wrote in her post. "Such an inspiration & forever breaking barriers in the industry. My younger self would’ve never thought that Rihanna would be following me & my journey!"

Rihanna, who has been following Adeleke's athletic career, was equally enthusiastic about their first meeting. 

The pair embraced warmly, exchanged smiles, and posed for photos, with the touching interaction captured on video for fans to enjoy.

Social media users were quick to comment on the encounter, joking that Rihanna may have been the bigger fan in the room. 

"No, Rhi is a fan of YOU," one user wrote, while another teased, "Not RiRi fangirling over you Omd." Another added: "Rihanna is the one fan girling."

The meeting comes shortly after Adeleke capped off her impressive 400m season with a third-place finish in Brussels. 

The Irish sprinter, who narrowly missed out on medals in both the 400m individual race and the 4x400m women's relay at the Olympic Games, continues to capture attention for her achievements on the track and her rising profile off it.
