Back in the day, Sean 'Diddy' Combs was known merely as 'Puff Daddy.' Simple and to the point. Everybody knew who you were talking about when you were talking about Puff Daddy. It was 1997, so there wasn't really anyone else going by that name, to be honest. Then, in 1999, 'Puff Daddy' became 'Puffy' which caused a bit of confusion at the time, but not as much confusion as when 'Puffy' decided that he wanted to be known as 'P. Diddy.' Grand, okay, we got used to that. https://twitter.com/diddy/status/925717760348389376 P. Diddy was around for a good while. Some would even argue that he became a household name, and when 'P. Diddy' simply became 'Diddy' we accepted it because, hey, that's only a loss of one letter. It's grand. We can cope with it. This latest change, however, we cannot cope with because it is in no way similar to any of the names that Sean Combs has gone by before. As well as this, the word 'Diddy' or 'Daddy' does not feature at all, which is honestly a tragedy. Instead, 'Diddy' now wants to be known as 'Brother Love' or, if you want to use a shorter version of the name, 'Love' will do just fine. "Hey y’all. I have some very serious news. I’ve been praying on this. I decided that, I know it’s risky and I know it’s corny to some people, but I decided to change my name again. "I’m just not who I am before. I’m something different. Some new name is Love aka Brother Love. "I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puffy Daddy or any of my other monikers but Love or Brother Love."

It is also clearly representative of his growth as an artist, and as a person, so yeah okay, well for him. Love, however, still goes by 'Sean Diddy Combs' on Twitter, so it remains to be seen how long this name change will last. Or if it will stick, at all.
