Ellie Goulding has shared details of her ongoing struggle with anxiety and imposter syndrome. The Close To Me singer said that she has spent a lot of time wanting to "sabotage my own success" as she deals with the constant pressure associated with fame. Following World Mental Heath Day, she said that she wanted to pay tribute to those who manage to get out of bed in the morning, "even when they're not feeling too great." "I am beyond relieved that more light is being shone on the complexity of going from being a touring artist/ performer to going straight back to normality on a regular basis," she said. "The constant change of pace is sometimes just too much to bare. Thank you to those artists who have spoken so candidly about it lately." Goulding said that she often struggles with her mental health due to anxiety caused by imposter syndrome - "and thinking that I don’t deserve happiness, which results in wanting to sabotage my own success." She added that she was thinking of her grandfather, who took his own life a few years ago. "I wish I had spoken to him more, and wish we could have had even the smallest clue of how unhappy he was," she said. "I admire those who get out of bed every morning and seize the day, even when they’re not feeling too great. "That requires a lot of courage." Goulding married partner Caspar Jopling earlier this year. The pair tied the knot at York Minister on August 31 surrounded by an array of people of note including Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, and Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.
