Margot Robbie has adopted prosthetics and padding to transform into disgraced ice skater Tonya Harding in the new film I, Tonya. The film depicts the true story lead up to the 1994 Winter Olympics. The story centres around an attack on Harding’s competitor, Nancy Kerrigan. The film is directed by Craig Gillespie and sees Robbie sporting Harding's '90s hairstyle and wardrobe. https://twitter.com/bestofmargot/status/821028284142075904 In January 1994, Kerrigan and Harding were preparing for the upcoming world championship competition that preceded the Olympic Games in Norway. When they competed previously,  Kerrigan took home the bronze while Harding placed just behind her in fourth back in 1992. Kerrigan was just finished practicing in Detroit when a man later identified as a hitman struck her with a baton above the knee. Her leg was not broken, but deeply bruised. With Kerrigan injured, Harding then went on to place first in the Championships in Detroit. It became known shortly after that the hitman was hired by Harding’s ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly. Gillooly, Kerrigan’s attacker, and two other men would eventually go to prison for the attack but not before they implicated Harding in the attack. When the US Olympic Council attempted to remove Harding, she sued and the council had no option but to allow her compete in the Winter Olympics in Norway. By that time, Kerrigan had recovered and placed 2^nd winning a silver medal. Harding was not so successful. It’s safe to say the film will be an absolute nail biter.
