The Made in Chelsea star, 34, has endured years of battling ulcerative colitis and now lives with a stoma bag.
Recently, she faced yet another setback when she was rushed to the hospital in November for emergency surgery.
The procedure led to septic shock, a life-threatening condition that has taken a heavy toll on the couple.
The pair opened up about the ordeal on their podcast, He Said, She Said. Fighting back tears, Louise reflected on the experience: “Like everything just grinds to a halt, doesn’t it?” she said, recalling the moment she was admitted to the hospital.
Ryan, also 34, encouraged her to share what had happened, to which Louise replied: “I was writhing around in pain all night, and at about 4am, I think I finally managed to drift off a little bit...
“It was the most amount of pain I’d ever been in, in my life.”
Louise’s recent hospitalisation marks another significant hurdle in her ongoing health journey.
Ryan revealed on the podcast that the emergency surgery was unexpected, describing the devastating impact it has had on their lives: “I don’t know how much more she can take,” he admitted.
He explained that Louise had been rushed to A&E at 3:30am before undergoing surgery. After the surgery, she went into septic shock, highlighting the severity of the situation.
“It’s completely broken me,” Ryan confessed. “Her recovery has been up and down. My heart is skipping all over the place - it feels so heavy and raw. It’s a difficult pill to swallow.”
Louise’s health struggles began after the traumatic birth of her son, Leo-Hunter, in 2021.
She underwent an emergency caesarean but suffered a life-threatening haemorrhage that caused her to lose three-and-a-half litres of blood.
Doctors later discovered a tear in her womb, adding to the physical and emotional toll of the experience.
Since then, Louise has faced numerous complications, including the need for a stoma due to her battle with ulcerative colitis.
Despite the setbacks, Louise remains committed to sharing her story to help others feel less alone in their struggles.
