Julia Roberts broke our hearts in the Richard Curtis rom-com, Notting Hill

It has everything a rom-com needs and more from the charming male lead to the addictive soundtrack.

It has become an instant classic and one we can watch over and over again, but Julia Roberts isn't a huge fan of the classic.

Her iconic speech- I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her- may be one of the most iconic moments in rom-com history, but Roberts admitted she felt 'awkward' filming the movie.

Julia Roberts explained that playing an actress just felt odd to her.

She told British Vogue that it was an unusual experience, one that made her feel rather uncomfortable.

"Honestly, one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do was your movie, playing a movie actress. I was so uncomfortable!

"I mean, we’ve talked about this so many times, but I almost didn’t take the part because it just seemed – oh, it just seemed so awkward. I didn’t even know how to play that person," she said.

Will Roberts ever return to her rom-com roots? The chances are unlikely unless she finds the perfect project.

"If I had read something that I thought was Notting Hill-level of writing or My Best Friend’s Wedding-level of madcap fun, I would do it."

Julia Roberts may not have loved the movie, but it'll forever go down in rom-com history.

If anyone needs us, we'll be swooning over Hugh Grant's floppy hair and quoting that famous scene off by heart.
