Spice Girls singer Geri Horner has paid tribute to her late brother Max Halliwell who has passed away at the age of 54. Left feeling "utterly heartbroken", it is understood that Max died after he collapsed in his home last week. After concerns about his welfare, an ambulance was called to Max's home where he was then taken to intensive care in Watford General Hospital. But despite the doctor's fighting to keep Max alive, he, unfortunately, passed away in hospital. Geri and her husband Christian were in the Middle East when tragedy struck, preparing for the Qatar Grand Prix. An insider revealed to The Sun that it has been "terribly traumatic" for the singer and the "worst possible outcome" has emerged. The devastated family are now "rallying together" to grieve the loss, but Geri "barely knows what to say or think just now" as she and Max were said to be very close. "This is the most awful, devastating, heartbreaking news and Geri is utterly broken by it," the source added. It is said that Max helped Geri through some of the harder times of her fame, particularly when she left the Spice Girls and the pair escaped the media swarm by heading to Paris. Geri took to social media only days before Max's passing to send a beautiful happy birthday message to her husband, with a rare snap of her children alongside it, but has yet to post since her brother's death. She wrote: "Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband @christianhorner. Thank you for being the most amazing husband and father. We love you."
