Demi Lovato is about to get very candid in her new documentary about her life and struggles growing up as a child star. Dancing With the Devil is the singer's third documentary and will focus on her struggles with drug addiction, her most recent relapse in 2018 and her life and career since. The singer posted a trailer of the YouTube doc on her Instagram with the caption: "I've been holding #DemiDWTD incredibly close to my heart, and now it's time to share an inside look. This is only a short preview of what is to come... Join me on March 23 for the premiere on @Youtube." The 28 year old speaks openly about the day she was taken to hospital in Los Angeles after an overdose in 2018. She talks about her experience and the aftermath. She says “I had three strokes, I had a heart attack. My doctors said that I had five to 10 more minutes.” Although the subject of the documentary is a very difficult topic for Demi she said she wanted to “set the record straight.” The star knows how lucky she is telling the camera "I’ve had a lot of lives, like a cat. I’m on my ninth life.” The trailer also features Sir Elton John who talks about fame and being a young star in the public eye, “when you’re young, and you’re famous, my God, it’s tough.” Demi has described the day she relapsed in 2018 as a "miracle day" and has changed her life around since. Her 2012 film, Stay Strong, followed Demi through her recovery after she cancelled a tour with the Jonas Brothers and went to rehab. Then in 2017 she filmed another documentary about her past and opened up about being dishonest in her previous film and admitted to being under the influence of cocaine during production. This new documentary will be a four-part series directed by Michael Ratner and will premiere on YouTube on 23 March.
