American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish has said that the overturning of Roe v. Wade marks a "very dark day for women in the US." Billie was performing in Glastonbury when she commented on the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the ruling, which had previously guaranteed women the constitutional right to abortion. Before performing her song Your Power, Billie said: "The song we’re about to do is, I think, one of the favourites that we’ve written and it’s about the concept of power and how we need to always remember how not to abuse it." She continued: "And today is a really, really dark day for women in the US. I’m just going to say that as I cannot bear to think about it any longer in this moment." She told fans that while she was having a great time at Glastonbury, she's been having the "sh**iest day" in the wake of the overturning of Roe v. Wade. She said: "All these irrelevant, old, motherf**kers trying to tell us what to do with our f**king bodies. Ugh, like yeah. I don’t know. F**k it." Meanwhile, on Twitter, Taylor Swift also voiced her support for women in the US. In a statement, she wrote: "I’m absolutely terrified that this is where we are – that after so many decades of people fighting for women’s rights to their own bodies, today’s decision has stripped us of that." A letter written by former First Lady Michelle Obama was widely shared by celebrities on social media. In it, she wrote: "I am heartbroken for people around this country who just lost the fundamental right to make informed decisions about their own bodies."
