Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have issued an apology after writing letters of support for convicted rapist Danny Masterson.
The couple has been hit with waves of backlash after their letters were made public.
Ashton and Mila posted an apology video, claiming they support victims, despite writing letters with the hope of Masterson getting a lesser sentence.
They claimed they wrote the letters to help Masterson's family, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually assaulting two women.
They stated:
"We are aware of the pain that has been caused by the character letters that we wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson."
"We support victims, we have done this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future."
"The letters were not written to question the legitimacy of the judicial system or the validity of the jury's ruling."
"They were intended for the judge to read," the pair stressed.
They also said the letters were never meant to "undermine the testimony of the victims or retraumatise them in any way".
"We would never want to do that and we're sorry if that has taken place," they added.
"Our heart goes out to every single person who has ever been a victim of sexual assault, sexual abuse or rape."
Both Kunis and Kutcher praised the convicted criminal in their letters. They even went as far as saying he was "a role model" as well as a "loyal" person.
The public has slated the couple's apology with many agreeing that they are only sorry they got caught.
