Ryanair’s reputation has taken a huge hit over the last week or so in the wake of the cancellation of hundreds of flights at short notice due to a massive rota mix-up. The fallout has seen over one hundred pilots move to Norwegian Air, the offer of bonuses to Ryanair pilots to cut their annual leave in an attempt to reduce the number of cancelled flights and Aer Lingus capitalising on the situation by announcing an impeccably-timed winter sale. It’s going to take a bit of work for Ryanair to win back the trust of potential customers, but one sure-fire way of getting bums on seats, regardless of reputation, is to make those seats available for knockdown prices.
