When it comes to eyeliner I’ve lost count of the amount of pencils that I own but one of my go-to favourite eyeliners has to be Revlon’s “Luxurious Colour” in black (€10.20).
I’m a big fan of using heavy, dark liner and this one does just the trick at defining your eyes.

I am literally OBSESSED with the Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Colour. I have brown eyes so I really like the blues and darker browns, Sable and Angel.
It stays on for ages and looks amazing on a night out with a little bit of shimmer but not TOO much. They are a little on the expensive side at €28 but they last forever and are totally worth it.

I got the Lancôme Hypnôse Star Eyes Palette compact/palette (€48) for Christmas and absolutely love it. It gives me the option of going for just one colour or layering it up for a more dramatic look.
I also like to use browns when it comes to eye shadows because it matches my eye colour and goes with everything.

I like most eyeliners but MAC liquid eyeliner (€18.50) is my favourite. It doesn't come off easily and lasts a really long time.

I'm not usually a fan of eyeshadow but I am partial to a smoky eye for a night out. I love BareMinerals Liner Shadow in Midnight Sky (€15.50 - €17). This mineral eyeshadow is really easy to blend and can be used wet to give a dramatic liner effect.
Applying the fine powder can be tricky at the start so my top tip would be to do your eye make-up before your base so that you can cover up any mistakes!

Eyeshadow is something that I love, however I'm not the most adventurous person when it comes to putting colour on my eyes. A staple item that I carry everywhere is some form of brown eyeshadow.
My three favourites, (I couldn't just choose one) are 'Woodwinked' by Mac and Urban Decay's 'Smog' and 'Roach'. Mac's Woodwinked has gorgeous burnt orange undertones when blended out onto the eye socket. I like how it's slightly metallic and not too heavy, which makes it perfect for day or night.
Smog from Urban Decay can be found in the majority of their pallets which just shows how popular the colour is, and is very similar to Woodwinked. It works really well under the eye when going for a smoky look.
Roach is a perfect mix of purple and brown, I like to use this colour when adding a little more depth to my eye make up and for me, Smog and Roach are a match made in eye shadow heaven.

Although lipsticks are incredibly pretty and look great on other people, I find I look like a clown when I try to recreate a glam Hollywood red or a pretty pink pout.
This means I tend to opt for the old faithful smoky eye using either a brown and gold combination or a grey/navy/silver mix.
NYC have some brilliant eyeshadow palettes: brilliant colour pay-off, a wide range of shades and best of all, affordable prices at €3.49 per palette. Also check the adorable names...Cupcakes & Coffee anyone?!
MAC eyeshadow pots are decidedly more expensive at €16 a pop but considering the amount of time they last and how well the shades mix, you really are getting value for money (over time!).
I'm a bit obsessed with Knight Devine, a light layer is great for a barely there look and you can layer it up for for night time.
