An exciting opportunity has come up for an experienced digital editor to work across the Her and HerFamily brands.
The role
Since 2012, Her has been Ireland’s female-focussed online hub, delivering the latest in trends, entertainment, fashion, beauty and switched-on social commentary. Sister brand HerFamily is a lifestyle site for Irish parents, offering supportive, non-judgemental insights, ideas for family fun and travel, as well as news and entertainment with a family focus.
The successful candidate will work across both brands and be based at our Dublin city centre office, on a hybrid working basis. They’ll oversee the daily content output of a team of talented creators and journalists to help deliver the best content for Her and HerFamily across all formats and platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily output of the editorial team
- Manage content schedules for site and socials for both brands
- Monitor analytics and social reach tools to help grow audiences across all platforms
- Responsible for proofing and sense checking all content for publishing
- Create content including editorials, interviews, social video and commercial content
- Work closely with the Brand Director to plan compelling content for each audience
Skills
- A background in digital journalism and experience in a senior editorial role
- Excellent writing, grammar and punctuation skills
- Ability to manage and nurture junior staff and talent
- Knowledgeable on all social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter and Snapchat
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Great attention to detail with a focus on quality output
- Strong problem solving skills
Personal qualities
- A clear passion for digital and social media
- Creative with a flair for great visuals
- A keen eye for what’s trending
- An interest in current affairs, entertainment and celebrity
Professional requirements
- A relevant media qualification is desirable but not a requirement
- Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics, social reach tools and SEO best practice
- Experienced in Wordpress and Canva
- Strong presentation skills are also desirable, but not a requirement
