Tinder has got plans to add a panic button and anti-catfish software. The global online dating app is set to add new safety features including an emergency assistance button, location tracking, and photo verification in a bid to give users a safer dating experience. Tinder's parent company Match Group have invested in software called Noonlight that will enable them to add the features to their own app. The new features will allow users to alert emergency services via the panic button while using the app. Highly accurate location data will enable emergency services to determine exactly where the person using the button is. Tinder's new photo verification feature will also allow users to ensure that the person they're talking to isn't catfishing them, ie: using a fake identity. The app will soon encourage users to upload several realtime selfies to ensure that the photos on their profile match their appearance. According to Match Group chief executive Mandy Ginsberg, Tinder will be the first dating app to introduce a safety feature as extensive as a panic button. "A safe and positive dating experience is crucial to our business," she told BBC News.  "We've found cutting-edge technology in Noonlight that can deliver real-time emergency services - which doesn't exist on any other dating product." Tinder will be rolling out the new features in the US this month. It is not yet known when the features will be available globally.
