For many years, fashion followed the same pattern where major fashion houses would decree what was "in" when their latest collections were unveiled. High-street shops would take inspiration from the catwalk, producing pieces similar to their haute couture counterparts. Fast forward a few years though and things have changed considerably. While we will always take what Karl says as gospel and as everyone knows Alexander's designs are the epitome of 21st century cool, the fashion heavyweights have had to edge aside to allow for another phenomenon. Street style is achingly cool, completely unique and a lot easier achieve than one might think. Here's a few basic tips to make sure you're au fait with a trend that is most definitely here to stay. Include at least one statement piece. Whether it's a statement collar, a leopard print coat or a metallic midi, at least one part of your outfit should take centre stage.
