This Summer Her.ie has teamed up with West Coast Cooler& Vodka to bring you a three part series discussing our favourite fashion, music and partners in crime collaborations. In the first of this three part series we will be focusing on the best fashion collaborations of 2014.
If you're a fashion fiend, discovering that talented individuals in the industry have decided to team up and create ranges unique to them is usually met with great excitement.
This level of happiness is nothing compared to securing an item from one of these ranges (remember the rush for Isabel Marant for H&M) considering they are known to sell out within minutes.
This year has been particularly exciting as Alexander Wang (head honcho at design house Balenciaga) has announced he will release a range in collaboration with H&M this November. We're just a tad excited for this one!
2014 has been a highlight for high-street fans as supermodel Kate Moss unveiled her second Topshop collection, the brilliant Vivienne Westwood teamed up with ASOS and achingly cool designer Peter Pilotto did a little work alongside Target.
Kate Moss x Topshop
After releasing her debut line in 2007, Kate Moss worked with Topshop this year to release a collection which we were pretty impressed with. There are a number of highlights including the Great Gatsby esque flapper dress, a vintage style lace top, printed kimono and a leather fringed jacket which you know Kate herself would rock on a daily basis. It sold out pretty quickly (which was to be expected) and we hope that Ms Moss won't wait too long before bringing out another collection.
Ethical Africa - Vivienne Westwood for ASOS
Vivienne Westwood has collaborated with ASOS this year to produce a range of bags. Entitled Ethical Africa, the bags are made from recyclable material such as unused leather cut-offs and roadside banners. The range starts from £58 ( €71.40) and each of the designs features Vivienne Westwood's signature motif in some shape or form. If you're a fan of the designer and are enviromentally conscious, this range is sure to please.
Peter Pilotto for Target
Peter Pilotto is a bright light in the fashion industry having won multiple awards from the British Fashion Council. His collaboration with American retailer Target was well received owing to the design's colourful prints and graphic lines. The designs were sold at Target stores and online at designer website Net-A-Porter and sold out extremely fast. This was no surprise considering the statement prints were affordably priced with most retailing under $60 (€45). No bad for a designer look! Check out Alexa Chung, Taylor Schilling, Dree Hemmingway and Diane Kruger rocking Peter Pilotto style below.
