Ralph Lauren American fashion designer Ralph Lauren was born in the Bronx, New York and began his fashion career early when he sold ties to his classmates in college. He then sold the ties to small shops in New York but things changed when he was approached by Neiman Marcus who bought 100 dozen. Roberto Cavalli Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli was born in Tuscany, Florence. His cool and modern designs brought something new to the fashion industry and he presented the first sand-blasted jeans on a Milan catwalk in 1994. Today, Cavalli has built up an impressive business with  accessories, eye wear, watches, jewellery, perfumes, underwear, and beachwear. Jennifer Lopez and Victoria Beckham are fans of his statement prints and we have to admit he's responsible for some eye-catching looks!
