Last week our pals at Jervis Shopping Centre launched a great new competition to find up and coming fashion writers. In honour of this, we’ve put together this piece on five of the finest fashion bloggers in the business, international inspiration for those who wish to do the same!

1) The Style Rookie
Seventeen year old Tavi Gevinson hit fashion headlines at the tender age of eleven, when she first launched her blog. Featuring the pre-teen in her distinctive outfits and her commentary on current styles, by age thirteen she had been invited to attend Fashion Week in New York and Paris. Her blog has had little in the way of updates in the last month, as she’s had her hands tied up with editor/owner job at Rookie Magazine. Dream big.

2) Kingdom of Style
The throne at Kingdom of Style is shared by long-term pals Michelle Haswell and Marie Thomson. This popular blog by the Scottish pair has been going strong for seven years now and wins over new fans every day with a combination of personal anecdotes and opinions alongside stunning pictures. Added bonus? In their own words; “We are coming from the perspective of women in their thirties and forties who don't conform to the expectation of how women our age should dress.”

3) The Sartorialist
Fair warning – one look at this blog and you’ll want to move to New York, immediately. Founded by 45-year-old photographer Scott Schuman, The Sartorialist is one of the best examples of ‘real people’ style, as it’s largely comprised of snaps Schumna has taken on the streets of the big apple. Since the blog’s inception in 2005 Schuman has featured in Vogue and GQ, and even modeled for GAP.

4) Japanese Streets
Nowhere in the world is street style more colourful, kitsch and, often, completely bonkers as it is in Japan. Japanese Streets is the go-to blog to see the fashion fans of the country showcasing their completely unique style.

5) Harper and Harley
We’re going Down Under for the final blog in our five. Harper and Harley is the passion project of 24-year-old Sydney-based Sara Donaldson. If we lived in Sydney there’s every chance that we might attempt to live year round in shorts, flip-flops and a string tee, we look at Sara’s blog and instantly think ‘Must Do Better’. Stunning.

Are you a blogger or an aspiring fashion writer? If you’re up to the challenge and think your writing skills are up to scratch you could win a Jervis Centre Gift Card! To get your hands on the prize, find out more here!
