According to Penneys, the pieces in the collection are designed to be worn and restyled year after year, making them the perfect backbone of a capsule wardrobe.
As for the prince point – the collection is somewhat higher than for regular Penneys clothing - but is still on a par with other high-street fashion retailers and so won't break the bank.
The idea of a capsule wardrobe is that while trends will come and go, but style will last forever, and the pieces that make up your capsule wardrobe is just that – stylish, simple and classic.
The Primark Edit, while slightly more expensive than other items in store, expands on Penneys' ethos that great fashion should be affordable to everyone.
With classic styles, luxe fabrics and tailoring that just looks and feels more upmarket and expensive, the items in the collection will see you reach for them again and again, meaning you will save yourself many wardrobe crisis moments – and also money.
Personally, I am obsessed with the cashmere-blend knits in the palest biscuit hues – so perfect to wear with jeans, black trousers or with any skirt in my wardrobe.
I am also planning on investing in the wool coat. I love how it is designed with a belt at the waist for a flattering silhouette, meaning it will look as chic worn over jeans and a t-shirt as it will worn over a dress come Christmas time.
I also love the oversized white shirt – so chic and timeless.
The Primark Edit is available now globally and in seven Irish Penneys' stores – Newbridge, O'Connell Street, Mary Street, Blanchardstown, Liffey Valley, Swords and Dundrum.
