Oh to be in London this Thursday night…
The Old Sorting Office will be the venue for an unveiling of the latest creation from designer Lulu Guinness, she of the to-die-for accessories.
For her latest project, Lulu has collaborated with upcoming artist Joe Steele, to explode paint on to a limited number of handbags. And yes, you did read that right. Explode.
The live colour explosions will take place in front of invited guests, using Guinness’ trademark colour palette of red, black and stone, but the resulting bags will make their way onwards. Some are set for a charity auction through Ebay, but four of them are heading for Dublin, Arnotts to be precise.
Two red and two black bags, each signed by both Lulu and Joe will be made available at the landmark Dublin store from Saturday, July 13th.

Four limited edition designs from Lulu Guinness are due in store at Arnotts this weekend
Steele’s motto is ‘I always work hard to make sure I never know what I am doing’ captures the ethos of the evening; no one can predict for sure what the outcome will be’, which can only compliment Lulu’s ‘Dare to be different’ ethos, borrowed from designer Elsa Schiaparelli.
If you’re thinking of splashing out on a fashion work of art, it will set you back €360.
Now… does anyone wish to lend us €360?
