Last month, Kate Spade tragically took her own life. The iconic designer had battled with mental illness for a number of years. Despite the fact that Kate sold her namesake brand back in 2006, the company have mourned her loss intensely. And yesterday, the Kate Spade company vowed to donate $1 million to charities involved in suicide prevention. They shared the announcement on their Instagram page. "In honour of our company founder, Kate Spade, our foundation is donating over $1 million to suicide prevention and mental health awareness causes, starting with $250,000 to the @crisistextline." Kate ultimately extended her brand into clothing and other accessories.
