Love Hate and since then, Ruth has gone on to make a major name for herself in Hollywood circles.
There's a major buzz around the Limerick-born actress at the minute thanks to her role in
Loving, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.
Thirty-four-year-old Ruth received widespread critical acclaim for playing Mildred and the film, and its stars, have already been tipped as potential Oscar winners.
Unfortunately, Irish cinema goers will have to wait until February to see how
Loving tells the story of Mildred and Richard, an interracial couple living in the 1950s, who are not permitted to get married.
In the meantime, Ruth, whose red carpet fashion sense is nothing short of amazing, is the cover star of the January issue of
Vogue.
