Look closely; one of these designs just might represent the next great Irish name in fashion.
This image shows the finalists for the tenth annual DIT Vodafone Fashion Show.
With a cash prize of €2,500 for the winner, the competition is fierce for the event, which takes place Wednesday 17th April in Dublin’s Vicar Street.
The judging panel consists of stylist Maria Fusco, broadcaster Brendan Courtney, fashion editor Bairbre Power and designer and previous winner of the student design element of the Vodafone DIT Fashion Show Umit Kutluk.
Rob Hyland Sponsorship Manager, Vodafone Ireland, said: “Vodafone is proud to support this event again which has developed a strong reputation over its ten years for recognising young fashion talent. Irish designers have had a significant influence on the fashion industry across the world and events such as this are an important platform to showcase the future of Irish Fashion.”

And the finalists are:
Nicole Jackson - Co.Galway, LIT says she is relating the theme to the human body. The human body is an illogical form; despite modern science there are still illogical and unexpected surprises within the story of beach body.
Louisa Howard – IADT - The theme 'A House of Chaos a Twisted Tale' to Louisa hit on the memory of the board game Cluedo. This murder mystery game is set in a “house of chaos” in which a murder takes place every time, but the tale is always twisted.
Edel Traynor - Grafton Academy – Edel’s twisted tale comes from the Rapid Eye Movement and non rapid eye movement stages of sleep and how our images or dreams during REM are quite sporadic and confusing.
Laura Jennings – Co.Mayo, LIT - to fully explore the theme Laura decided to work with the Famous brothers Grimm Story, Snow White, but she twisted the story in her own way.
Mona Sweeney – GMIT – The work is centred on the dual theme of vulnerability and protection and fashion as armour. When we choose our clothes we choose how the world perceives us.
Jordan Edmonds Moore - LIT - Jordan’s piece is based on the idea of Chaos verse Control and having the two interact with one another in a garment. Essentially he wanted his look to reflect a battle between the two, both fighting each other in order to take hold of the wearer.
Antonia Dowling – DIT - Antonia imagined an old rundown house of pain, nothing is safe. It reminds her of the house in the Tim Burton home where he and Dali have run free with madness.
Maria Roche - Griffith College - Her silhouette “chaos” is inspired by the rapid and chaotic manner of the environment. It's inspired by the fusion and twisting of the beautiful, eccentric and crazy forms.
Jessica Brandt – University of Ulster - Her idea for her design is based on Chaotic Earth.
Colin Horgan – Co.Kerry, LIT. The name of this piece is Relinquish menswear and is the first and only menswear piece to make it to the semi-final.
