We never sleep better than we do at a hotel.

The soft carpets, the crisp sheets, the black-out curtains, the rich three-course meal plus breadbasket that we've just eaten...  It all adds up to a quality night's sleep. So imagine how literally dreamy life would be if we could recreate a hotel room feel at home. Ok, yeah, it's never going to be the same when you have to clean it yourself (who on earth has the time and energy to actually iron sheets?) and there's there's zero possibility of room service unless you're particularly close to your Just Eat delivery person. But it's still possible to inject a little five-star glamour into your own home. In fact, you can do it with just one simple addition. The vast majority of high end hotel bedrooms feature a bench or Ottoman at the end of the bed. In a hotel, this is to provide a place for the throw and scatter cushions to sit after the turndown service at night. Now, unless you're living the Downton life, turndown probably happens about two seconds before you get into bed in your own home – but the end-of-bed chair can still be used to store your bedroom bits and a spot to sit while you kick your shoes off.
