Jessica Chastain's embellished velvet gown, Alexander McQueen no less, is a lesson in timeless sophistication while Marion Cotillard is filling us with 90s nostalgia thanks to this pinstriped belted dress.
The tide has turned against the red carpet recently. A couple of weeks ago, Blake Lively made headlines when a reporter deigned to ask her about her outfit (Brandon Maxwell jumpsuit FYI), suggesting that perhaps it would be more in line to concentrate on the event and what it was about.
Now given that Lively was there to give a speech about child pornography, it's understandable that she wasn't really bothered about giving details about her #ootd.

Their haute couture pieces are often replicated on the high-street and often, events like this shape next season's style. Think about it, pouring over the first looks from Cannes 2017 provides some much-needed momentary escapism from yet another dull, dreary Wednesday where a trip to the cinema is about as exciting as it gets...
