The end of the year is nigh (we don't think we are the only ones to wonder where exactly 2013 disappeared to) and this is our signal to look back on what this year looked like in the fashion world. Whatever your taste, there was a huge amount of choice including ladylike chic, grungy punk, sweet pastels, moody metallics, and numerous prints. Celebrity style tends to have an influence on what is considered popular and many of us take inspiration from what the rich and famous wear. With that in mind, here are five of 2013's style icons. This list could be decidedly longer but we managed to narrow it down, just about! Amy Huberman We had to begin the list with an Irish lady and who better than the fabulous Miss Huberman. Multitalented Amy has a fairly hefty CV boasting acting and novel writing as just two of her many skills. She also had her first child, daughter Sadie earlier this year. The night before Sadie's birth, Amy was on the red carpet for the IFTA's looking radiant in a black maxi dress. If that's not a true style icon, then we don't know what is! Olivia Palermo Since her days on MTV's The Hills, Olivia has built a reputation for herself as an expert in all things fashion. Far from a one-trick pony, Olivia rarely misses a beat and has a unique knack of mixing and matching pieces to create a chic but cool look. Colour pops of neon are paired with stylish separates and understated prints culminating in a style that we all want to emanate (even if she wasn't the nicest person during her time on reality show The Hills). Miranda Kerr Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr somehow manages to always get it right, we don't think she has ever had an off day. The fact she is a hugely successful model obviously helps but at the same time you can't buy a sense of style. From denim cut-off shorts and oversized coats to stunning red-carpet gowns, she knows how to work a room. Kerr looks equally good dressed down as she does in expensive couture and that is the sign of a true style queen. Blake Lively  Fans of Gossip Girl will be familiar with Serena who was definitely one of the most spoilt (but impeccably dressed) teenagers to grace our screens. Blake too can be lauded as a fashion maven in her own right, she has had contracts with both Chanel and Gucci and is currently the face of L'Oreal Paris. Not bad for a 26-year-old! Lively can rock plain black leggings, a baggy knit and six inch stilettos like no other... Jessica Alba It's hard not to like Jessica Alba who has that sweet girl-next-door aura but don't underestimate her... this girl got style! Her Jackie O inspired look from earlier this year was simply gorgeous and proof that it's not necessary to bare all in order to look good. Boyfriend jeans, cool hats and dark shades form the basis of this girl's off-duty wardrobe and we just love it. As for THAT delectable pink skirt... it's the stuff fashion dreams are made of.
